Description:
The e-commerce market in Bangladesh has expanded rapidly,creating new opportunities for businesses to reach wider customer bases. Whilemany women are actively engaged in informal online selling, particularlythrough platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp, they are largely underrepresentedon formal e-commerce platforms. This exclusion limits their ability to scale,commercialize, and benefit from the greater visibility, operational tools, anddata protections that formal platforms offer. As a result, women entrepreneursmay face slower growth and greater vulnerability in the digital marketplace.This project aims to evaluate whether facilitating women-s access toformal e-commerce platforms can improve their business performance, includingprofits and growth. Findings from this study will serve as a proof of conceptto inform ongoing and future World Bank operations in Bangladesh, such as thePRIDE project. This assignment seeks a qualified firm to conduct a series of activities related to training female entrepreneurs for the study. The detailed scope of activities are provided in the ToR.
