Expression of Interest are invited for Survey - Measuring Access to New or Improved Electricity Service in Bangladesh Scope of work: The World Bank intends to engage a consulting firm to carry out electricity survey activities based on the MTF in Bangladesh. This will include the following surveys: a) Household survey: the sample size for the survey in Bangladesh will be approximately 2,000-2,500 households. b) Community survey and facility services survey: including education institutions and health centers will be carried out in communities where household surveys will take place. Enumerators will identify all of the education and health facilities available within or nearby enumeration areas from which people can receive the services. The task has four major components as outlined indicatively below: 1. Design and implement baseline surveys: The consulting firm will be given the following MTF electricity access questionnaires: household, community and community facility. The consulting firm will carry out tablet- or smartphone-based surveys using CAPI (or other electronic survey technologies). In addition, the firm will be responsible for collecting other secondary/administrative data, as needed, for the analysis as well as sampling. The firm will develop samples for the surveys, hire and train the survey team, pre-test the questionnaires and their adaptation to local conditions, and finally implement the surveys. The sample selection, questionnaire content and survey team are covered under specific tasks.
