Description:
OBJECTIVE Better Work seeks to contract a researcher (or small team of researchers) with a strong background in gender studies, public health, behavioral sciences, and relevant research methods, as well as a solid understanding of the working realities and context of the garment sector. The contractor(s) will review and adapt existing in-house survey, FGD, and interview tools to ensure they are tailored to the garment sector, behaviorally informed, and gender-sensitive. The aim is to refine these tools, so they are practical, contextually relevant, and capable of generating actionable insights on violence and harassment in the world of work. The tools should serve the following specific purposes: Assessing the prevalence, frequency, and nature of violence and harassment and the resulting physical, psychological, sexual, and economic harm, with a gender-sensitive perspective (including through an Occupational Safety and Health lens, where possible).Identifying risk factors and high-risk situations. This includes mapping which groups of workers are most vulnerable to violence and harassment, identifying where different forms are most likely to occur (e.g., on the factory floor, in dormitories, or during transport), and understanding the conditions that increase these risks. Such conditions may relate to production pressure, team dynamics, workforce composition, or power imbalances.
