Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Railway Sector Review and Preparation of Roadmap for Cross-Border Rail Services in Eastern South Asia. The overall objective of this assignment is to seek a consultancy firm to support the World Banks South Asia Regional Integration team in undertaking a railway sector review and preparation of roadmap for cross-border rail services in eastern South Asia particularly between India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. It is expected that the consultancy firm will produce a comprehensive study focused on (a) assessment of the current situation (rail infrastructure, legal and regulatory framework, and sector institutions and policies), and (b) proposing a roadmap/framework for cross border rail connectivity that could provide an impetus for regional dialogues on rail. The study would also focus on the economic impact of enhancing cross border rail connectivity especially detailing the impacts on output, regional trade, employment, and linkages with global value chains. identify priority rail infrastructure investments needed to fill gaps in existing networks, renovation required etc. Publication Date: 09-Nov-2022 Expression of Interest Deadline: 21-Nov-2022 at 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time - Washington D.C.).
