Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Digital Labor Platforms and Labor Conditions. The World Bank (WB) intends to carry out an individual-level survey in Dhaka, Bangladesh as part of a RCT study on the effect of an empowerment training and digital labor platform for domestic workers in Bangladesh titled Digital Labor Platforms and Labor Conditions. The survey will collect information on domestic worker wellbeing and employment outcomes. It will also include questions on technology adoption, womens agency, personality assessments, and workplace abuse. The survey is planned to be implemented with active domestic workers or women interested in becoming domestic workers who have been recruited by the Oxfam Securing Rights Program in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The program is an empowerment training. The women who will be surveyed will be recruited for the program but will not have yet gone through the program. The scope of the work involves the following, among others: Submit and procure IRB approval Translating the draft questionnaire provided by the WB into the local language Field testing and finalizing questionnaire through a pilot with 20 recruited trainees Collaborating with Oxfam to contact and arrange interviews with 4,000 recruited trainees Conducting household surveys with 4,000 study participants for the baseline survey In collaboration with the WB, randomly assign the study participants into the control or treatment groups and share this information with Oxfam prior to the intervention Data entry, cleaning and timely delivery of data in either STATA or SPSS format. Conducting household surveys with 4,000 study participants (may be slightly less due to attrition) for the endline survey, approximately one year after the baseline.
