Description:
Tenders are invited for Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Investment Project (Line 5, Southern Route) The Government of Bangladesh requested assistance from Asian Development Bank (ADB) to help finance the construction of the Dhaka mass rapid transit (MRT) Line 5, Southern Route, the country-s fourth MRT line, in support of expansion of the MRT system in Dhaka, to provide safe, reliable, and inclusive urban transport services and thereby assist modal shift. The alignment of the project will traverse from west to east over a total length of 17.2 kilometers (km), including 13.1 km of underground section with 11 stations, and 4.1 km elevated section with four stations. Interchange facilities with other MRT Lines 5 and multimodal hubs will be constructed at selected stations. The proposed project will also include procurement of goods and systems such as rolling stocks, a signaling and telecommunication system, a power supply system, mechanical systems, among others, and the construction of an at-grade depot in Dasherkandi. The project will also assist in institutional strengthening of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, the executing agency, in planning transit-oriented development and value capture financing.
