• Bangladesh, one of the most climate-vulnerable countries, faces significant health risks due to rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and changing humidity patterns, which are altering disease epidemiology. The elderly population (65+) is particularly vulnerable, with higher susceptibility to climate-induced health conditions like ischemic heart disease, renal disorders, and chronic pulmonary diseases. Urbanization and the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) further exacerbate these challenges. Despite global evidence linking climate change to worsening health outcomes, knowledge gaps persist, particularly in South Asia. To address this, the World Bank health team is conducting a study on climate change-s impact on elderly health in Bangladesh, using household data, localized weather conditions, and literature analysis. A two-round panel survey was conducted in January and May 2024. The World Bank health team is seeking a firm to support two additional rounds of data in May 2025 and January 2026.
